The SA Adelaide Language Centre Homestay Programme
arranges homestay placements, provides ongoing
quality care and facilitates arrangements
between students and host families.
A happy relationship with a host family is
the highlight of studying in another country.
While some difficulties may arise, especially
during the settling in process, these can
be minimised by ensuring that families and
students are well informed and prepared for
the experience. SAALC fulfils this role and
provides an ongoing liaison service between
families and students.
Our staff are highly experienced in placing
students with homestay families and recognise
the importance of maintaining contact and
providing support for students and families.
As part of our care and concern, the full-time
Accommodation Co-ordinator, Peter
Hanna, is available at all times
(mobile phone: + 61 411 109 318) should any
problems or emergencies arise. The Director
of Studies can also be contacted after hours
if necessary.
Homestay fees are currently $210 per
week (including breakfast, lunch,
dinner and clothes washing). In some
cases families may nominate a different
rate.
